The Zachys Evening Sale Exceeds Expectations: $4,329,273 realized in just 459 lots and 97% sold!

The room was packed at Zachys Evening Sale, a 459-lot auction dedicated to the “best of the best.” With well over 100 people in attendance at The Four Seasons Restaurant, bidders ate, drank, and bid on some of the most sought after and collectible wines in the world. Zachys auctioneers bravely battled the convivial din and brought down the gavel time and time again on 5-figure lots while diners enjoyed everything from a double magnum of ’05 Cheval Blanc, to the wines of DRC, Coche Dury, and more.

1978 DRC Montrachet, 1986 Ramonet Montrachet, 1982 Latour and a case of 1959 Haut Brion all performed above their high estimates, but the top five lots in the auction were DRC. An Assortment of the ’90 vintage led the pack as the top lot of the sale selling for $46,550 with 12-bottle cases of ’99 and ’05 La Tâche not far behind ($44,100 and $39,200, respectively). With strong prices, eager bidders and a packed sale room, Zachys made it official: the Evening Sale is back, and the market is stronger than ever.
