Brovia's 1999 Barolo Villero is quite a bit richer and deeper than the Rocche. Here the fruit shows distinctly darker tonalities, while the aromatics still need time to fully develop. This is a pretty and highly expressive Barolo that will drink nicely for at least another decade, but it is clearly a wine from the older generation. The powerful tannins need at least a few more years to fully soften. A final blast of fruit hits the palate on the finish. 91, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
