95 Points, Zachys Buying Team: Tasted during Bordeaux En Primeur 2015. Of the 300+ wines tasted on the trip, this was one of the most memorable wines. It is another one of those rare Saint-Emilion wines that captures red fruit nuances and delivers them with Burgundian sensibility. The wine possess some of the firmness that comes with 2006, but there is great tension from the minerality and limestone soils that hold the bold fruit in check. Nuances of currants, black cherry, red licorice, spice, smoke, cedar, minerality and herbaceous undertones are sprinkled throughout. Let this wine breathe two hours. With air there is a restrained creaminess to the wine. This is an elegant wine that is just beginning to enter a magical place and show its greatness and is a true reminder of why many of us need to revisit 2006.4/16
