Zachys Catalog Click here to download a spreadsheet of the auction lots

Zachys is honored to present wines carefully collected by a successful midwestern entrepreneur over the last two decades.

This collection is notable for its breadth, 1,600 different wines totaling 4,000 bottles, all of high quality. Most of the California wines were purchased directly from the wineries. European and Australian wines were sourced from major auction houses (Zachys, Christie’s, and Sotheby’s) and broker/retailers including J.J. Buckley. Many of the Lafites were purchased at Zachys’ ex-chateau Lafite sale in 2019. Apart from Mondavi, Beaulieu, Diamond Creek, Grace, and Dominus, the California wines are a roll call of some of the hottest brands of the last two decades—Abreu, Bevan, Blankiet, Bond, Bryant, Carter, Colgin, Dana, Harlan, Hundred Acre, Morlet, Ovid, Promontory, Scarecrow, Schrader, Sine Qua Non, and Verite. Don’t miss the terrific smaller groups of wines from Spain, Italy, the Rhone, Washington State, and Australia, including a substantial run of Grange from 1981 to the present.

All of the wines in this collection were carefully maintained, and removed from two temperature controlled storage locations. The binned wines from a custom built home cellar, and the unpacked boxes from dedicated storage at the consignor’s warehouse facility.

Be sure to not miss the rest of this incredible collection in New York's July live sale on the 27th!
