We have an amazing two-day auction for you! We kick off day
1 with Screeeeeaaaaaaming Eagle, a gorgeous vertical of this rare California
cult. But it only gets better from there as we approach the heart of this
auction: Pioneers II. The first tranche from this amazing collection was sold
last December to great success; many of the wines in this offering were sourced
from Zachys retail over the years, and bought en primeur or shortly after
release. Indeed, this offering includes one of the greatest offerings of Cheval
Blanc and Petit Cheval ever. And—we decided to split up Pioneers II into day 1
and day 2, so that the Burgundy in this amazing collection is with the other
Burgundy.
For Burgundy-only day 2, the lots are simply jaw-dropping in their breadth and
depth. DRC, Rousseau, Roumier, Dujac,
an enormous selection of Leroy and
D’Auvenay, Coche, Liger-Belair, Bachelet and more and more and more. A colossal
amount of wines in this auction were bought on release too. We’ve got case lots
of Truchot and Engel—you don’t see those too often. We’ve got more Burgundy
than we’ve seen in a while...257 bottles of Roumier, 251 bottles of Rousseau,
253 bottles of DRC, and 35 bottles of d’Auvenay, which has to be a reasonably
high percentage of annual production. If you’re like us, your cellar has been
depleted at an astonishing rate over the winter. Don’t worry—we can help you
replenish.
