As any experienced collector knows, provenance is the name of the game. Not all bottles are equal and when the cork is pulled and the wine is poured, the provenance will often be the difference between a legendary night where the stars align and a disappointing dinner that prompts one to look into collecting stamps. This sale is all about provenance. One owner, all purchased on release either directly from the winery or from local retailers and one cellar, all professional stored at pristine humidity and temperature control. The consignor is a well-known and regarded West Coast wine collector who is member of all of the legendary tasting groups that garnished both press and envy starting in the 80’s and 90’s. He’s collected and opened nearly every epic wine ever made with no signs of slowing down. This offering is the smallest bit of cellar pruning, releasing to market the wines he won’t get around to drinking in their ideal windows or bottles of which he has many multiples. Many of these need no introduction and are the perfect place to source ready-to-go bottles that will outperform their siblings sitting on retail shelves.
