"...the 2004 Champans is absolutely singing today. I cannot recall ever tasting a more transparent and minerally-infused young example of this vineyard chez d'Angerville. The old vines in Champans have outdone themselves in 2004, as the wine jumps from the glass in a beautiful blend of red cherries, quince, a bit of blood orange, stunning minerality, a bit of violet and perhaps a whiff of vanilla. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and beautifully balanced, with tangy acids, moderate and well-integrated tannins, and outstanding length and grip on the finish. This is an extremely promising young Champans that should absolutely be on every d'Angerville lover's shopping list in 2004. 2012-2040...92-93+." JG 1/06.
