1 magnum (1.5L) Domaine Leflaive Bâtard-Montrachet 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/29/2022
Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is a Chardonnay wine vinified following biodynamic methods. Domaine Leflaive has been a family affair since Claude Leflaive came to Puligny-Montrachet in 1717 to cultivate several acres of vineyards. Brice de La Morandière, great grandson of the official domaine’s founder, Joseph Leflaive, represents the fourth generation. The core of the domaine is composed of premier and grand cru vineyards, all planted with chardonnay. Domaine Leflaive is one of the pioneers of biodynamic viticulture in Burgundy and is consistently at the forefront of organic practices in the vineyards. The cellar philosophy follows the purest Burgundian tradition: long and natural fermentations in oak barrels in the first year and in stainless steel the second winter. Batard Montrachet is one of the most historic and venerated wines of Puligny Montrachet and Domaine Leflaive is its principal producer.
Beneath a golden robe with emerald reflections, yellowing with age, the bouquet of the Bâtard-Montrachet appellation suggests butter and warm croissant, fern, dried fruit, spices and honey. We no longer distinguish the body and the bouquet, as structure and harmony merge into a perfect unity.
Wine donated by Domaine Leflaive.
