We brought together this extraordinary vertical of our Victoria Estate Pinot noir from our limited library collection to share for this special event! Named for our co-founder and Colene Clemens daughter, the Victoria bottling represents the finest expression of our estate vineyard in any given vintage. A blend of our very best vineyard blocks, this cuvée showcases both intensity and purity of fruit in the all-important context of balance, the key to its exceptional ageability.

2010 – The second coolest growing season on record remembered by many as “the bird year” for the devastating migratory birds who consumed large quantities of this already low yielding vintage as the fruit hung deep into October. Thankfully despite September rains the month of October remained dry allowing us to achieve great physiological ripeness along with sugars that we originally never thought possible. The structural elegance of the cool growing year with an opulent fruit profile that belies the vintage resulted in wines with impressive depth that drink well to this day.

2011 – The coldest growing season on record and perhaps the most “Burgundian” vintage ever produced in the Willamette Valley, these higher acid lower alcohol wines were destined to blossom after some time in the bottle. Lean and mean on release, they have since fleshed out nicely in the bottle, exhibiting a much more generous fruit profile now then when originally released. Perhaps the most transparent and nuanced of all the vintages, the 2011 continues to improve and should offer exceptional drinking for years to come.

2012 – A rainy and cool spring that resulted in exceptionally low yields was turned around in early July with the onset of one of the longest and driest stretches of weather to date. Never exceptionally hot, we recorded only a trace of rain all the way through harvest in mid-October. Once again, excellent physiological ripeness and structure with great ripeness and intensity. The vintage that you couldn’t keep your hands off once released but would regret later as this wine continues to evolve into one of our very best vintages to date. Youthful and fresh a decade in the bottle, we can’t wait to see where this beauty continues to go!

Lot features the option of a virtual tasting of current vintage wines with one set of wines shipped for the tasting, or complimentary on-site tasting for up to six guests.
