We are beyond excited to present this auction, the genesis of which began years ago as merely an idea. An auction dedicated to only the greatest, and rarest Burgundy: Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. In the past decade Burgundy has become the most sought-after wine we sell, and DRC is at the top of every collector’s wish list. And though Burgundy is the cornerstone of nearly every auction, the idea of a sale dedicated to one Domaine, even “the” Domaine, seemed like a pipe dream—the wine is simply too rare. Then came this collection. We could have parceled it out into multiple sales. But when we saw the sheer breadth and condition of this collection, we knew it had to be presented as one, unified collection, one formed over years by a meticulous collector. The collection was amassed over decades from European merchants and major international auction houses based in Europe. All the wines in this offering were removed from temperature and humidity-controlled storage in France and moved to our professional wine warehouse in White Plains for this auction. The wines were shipped with temperature trackers for the duration of their Atlantic voyage. Please bid with confidence in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
