Wine for good: The United Sommeliers Foundation has partnered with Zachys for a charity auction! If you haven’t heard, The United Sommeliers Foundation is a 501c(3) organization dedicated to providing emergency financial assistance to wine professionals due to circumstances beyond their control; in the words of Interim Executive Director Jon McDaniel, “The mission and vision of The United Sommeliers Foundation is to not only support our current community, but to help grow the viability of the future of the profession.” The USF, which was founded at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic when hospitality workers were hardest hit with layoffs and terminations, has granted over $1 million to sommeliers in the past two years for qualifying circumstances.
