In 1978 Piero Antinori had a little more Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc than he needed for his Tignanello, so he bottled that lot separately. The rest, as they say, is history. Antinori’s Solaia went on to become one of the most iconic wines of Italy and the world. Treat you and your friends (12 people total) to a once-in-a-lifetime vertical tasting going back to the inaugural 1978 hosted by Antonio Galloni and Edward Milstein. Vintages 1978-2011 donated by Edward Milstein; vintages 2012-2018 donated by Antinori. All proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. The Lot: vertical tasting of 33 vintages spanning 1978 to 2018, one 750ml bottle each.
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/1/2022
Please note that winning bids represent commitments to make a donation of that amount to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. A Juvenile Diabetes Foundation representative will coordinate payment of the donation to the hospital with the winning bidder.
